When you install MSSQL 2008 any edition into Chinese OS, you will face “Performance Counter Registry Hive consistance” error and cannot continue to install.
To fix this problem, go Command Prompt and change to the SQL installation folder :
setup /ACTION=install /SKIPRULES=PerfMonCounterNotCorruptedCheck.
